"I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best."
Hi! I'm twenty, and in my third year of college. I have no idea what I'm doing in life.
I like music, jellybeans, clouds, and meeting people(: I'm incredibly boring. Tumblr is where I come to rant. I'm sorry if I followed you, you probably posted pretty pictures. let's beeee friendssss !
Dang. So far, I’ve looked at:
South Korea, because I’m currently studying here, and Nigeria, because my dad was born and raised there (he came to the US for college) and most of his family is still there.
Nigeria… makes me so sad. Even what’s labeled green (denoting positive differences) aren’t really positive. If I were from Nigeria, I would spend 99.12% less on health care, use 98.99% less electricity, consume 97.01% less oil… These aren’t really positives. It just speaks to the lack of development in the country, and highlights the priveleges Americans have.
I’m suddenly incredibly grateful that my father was able to get a scholarship to come to the US for college, and that he met my mother, and that they started a family. I also understand a little better why education is so important to my dad… while I was in high school, he’d say that the US is a country where anyone can go to college, no matter what their parent’s jobs are or how much money they make. Maybe not everyone can go to top schools, maybe some people will have a hard time and have to work or take out loans, but anyone can do it. And if you’re able to, then you should, if only because there are so many people out there in the world who don’t even get to choose whether or not they go to college, or even high school, or even any level of formal education. :/
